Hello ducklings! 28/1

fishy fishy: So sydneys new fish markets have opened up and as aesthetic as they are and as beautiful

as the view is, i dont highly rate it, at least the place we got food from. it wasnt as good as the old one

and i think its lacking in night life, like they could do so much with the area and bring in a bunch of

crowds but the whole place closes at 10 and all restarunts stop serving at 8:30 give or take. Anyways

after our dinner we decided to go to the gelato shop that was there and just as we were about to order

when an alarm goes off telling the whole building needs to evacuate cause of a fire. we all ended up

having to sit outside down the path in the evacuation point and waited 20 mins for the building to get the ok before we could go back. you’re probably thinking is gelato really worth a 20 min wait? why not just go home at that point? great question, no it isn’t worth that wait but the parking lot is located underneath the building which then means that no one could access their cars until we got the all clear.

you’re not always right: As you know (maybe if not then you will find out) i’ve been working at

IGA for the past 5(?) years and let me tell you some customers think they know better than us who work at the store and know the shop/rules/policies. anyways let me just tell you something about our store; if the product is not on the shelf or not on the capping of the shelf then we do not have the product. dont ask us to check out the back and if you insist we go out the back and see, we stand out the back for a few seconds or have a chat with another worker then come back out and tell you we dont have the product. unless we just received a delivery, the product will never be out the back.

another thing is if i ask you for a bag and you say nah i already got one and point to your wife, just know w’eve heard that joke 5 times that day already and you are not original.

another thing, please look at the signs at the end of the aisles before asking for assistance as to where a

product will be. unless you’re looking for something specific, it really annoys us when you ask where

our chocolate is when it clearly says on the sign chocolate and most of the time you would’ve walked

past the aisle to ask someone and when you walk past that aisle you can clearly see chocolate. OR even worse is when you ask where the product is and i tell you and you say its not there when i know for a fact that we put out a whole pallet of that product a day ago when the sale started. sorry for the rant, some people just need common sense. i also know its my job but it is just frustraiting when you deal with multiple dim customers across a shift.

fooood edible fooood: Hannah, my sister, has decided us daughters help mum with cooking dinner.

now, its not that i dont agree its a good idea, its just not a good idea for me. i cant cook. and when i do try to cook i over cook things to make sure they are fully cooked especially chicken cause i dont want food poisoning. so any recipes that you ducklings give me will be highly appreciated.

a story to tell you just how bad i am at cooking, about 10 years ago i was making cupcakes for school and all i had to do was read the instructions on the box which were add milk and 2 other ingredients to the pre-made mixture, anyways it said ¾ cup of milk so i found ¾ on the measuring cup and filled it up

to that line and poured it into the bowl and i didn’t realise it was wrong until mum came in and saw that the whole bowl was nearly filled to the brim with milk. turns out i put 2 ¾ cups of milk instead of only ¾.

when i tell you that i dont cook, i really only cook scrambled eggs, omelettes or fried eggs (but they cant be runny they gotta be solid). although i have gotten better a bit, custard and knefeh are now my

specialties, theyre essentially the same thing but eh thats my ability thus far. ill tell you how i go next

letter, im cooking teriyaki salmon poke bowls.

spontaneous travel and broke bank here i come: So on thursday night i saw edrea after a week

break from her cause we were camping togther and she was telling me how she came back and everyones been asking her when her next trip is and she responds with theres nothing planned. however we bot then say im not doing anything at the end of feb, next minute were typing into a spinny wheel bali, phillipines or vietnam and letting it decide our spontaneous trip thats taking place just over 3 weeks away. spinny wheel told us bali so looks like you’re girl’s going to bali for a week. looking forward to a different experience, ive never done like an overseas beach hoilday, although i fear for bali belly and the decrease in my bank account by the end of it.

i have lately really wanted to go rock climbing or go karting and i have no clue why, however, i cant really go. i mean i can go karting but i have no one to go with but i cant do rock climbing because of my nails but then i dont wanna cut them yet cause ill have to cut them for netball and i like long nails and also i want nice nails for all my trips, you see my issue?

hannah has also recently gotten into baking cakes but not just boring plain ones like 3 layer chocolate peanut butter or 2 layer salted caramel all from scratch so if anyone has any cake flour ideas they want tested send them through and ill rate them in the next letter

so my go to conversation starter/silence breaker is to ask questions like “whats your 3rd favourite colour” or “whats your 5th favourite animal” or the other day it was “whats your 15th favourite substance” anyways the people i was out with were sick of my line of questioning so we ended up playing 2 truths and a lie so ill pitch mine to you and see if you can get it (ilyk next week)

a) i put bbq sauce on lasagna

b) i put bbq sauce on beef stir fry

c) i put bbq sauce on salmon
