Hello ducklings! 21/1

new year new sletter: Its a newwww yearrrrr ducklingsss and im back after a - was gonna say

relaxing but it wasnt that much - trip and the holidays. technically it is still holidays but i figured if i dont start this back up this week im probably gonna procrastinate for a lot longer than what i should. and since i dont have uni anymore theres no one on my back for doing this which makes me actually have to ‘want’ to do this without external pressure.

the weeks before and this week after my trip were quite nice, spent a lot of time with family, got really into cricket (to the point where we are going to watch the final this friday), christmas was full of food, boxing day was a fun bbq with work friends, new years eve was a fun pool party with drinks and people sleeping at 8:30 from drinking too much *cough steph cough*. new years day was with family again and more food and then we left on the 2nd for our trip. coming back we had a retirement party for my sister and now i am working 5 shifts a week to get back all my money i spent on holidays.

trip breakdown: I figured this trip needed its own section and i could go on about it for a few pages,

could even give you the day to day schedule if you asked but i think ill leave it to highlights and our

campsite ranking table.

experiences i loved and 100% would do: quad biking in port stephens, Glow-worms, Waterfalls &

Rainforest experience in byron bay, newcastle baths in you guessed it newcastle and ghosties beach

caves in moonee (make sure you know where the beach enterance is and dont go for an hour hike in

thongs to then end up ontop of the caves)

food i would 100% eat again: o bagel southport, blackfinn espresso toukley, Murray’s Craft Brewing Co in port stephens (drinks were great food isnt anything to rave about), saltbush in ballina, benchmark in hawks nest (i rate their pub burger), atmos in surry hills + mudcake hot cross buns, chocolate coated digestive biscuits with campfired marshmallows, and finally the greatest food combo found on this trip.... snowballs sandwiched between thai chilli lime chips.

trip highlights: 3 snakes were seen, edrea got punched by an eel, belle and i both had a cockroach crawl on our faces when sleeping, belle and i also slept 2 nights in a car, we did an hour hike in thongs which made my ankle swell from an injury that has occurred since yr 6, i finished 5 books and averaged under 2 hours a day on my phone.

campsite rankings and awards: (ranking based on ground, bathrooms, kitchens, atmosphere and

surrounding sounds each got a mark 0-2 then totalled to ten)

  1. Lennox Head Holiday & Caravan Park 8/10 - Best lake award, best grass award

  2. Nambucca Heads Holiday Park 7/10 - best kitchen award, worst hills award

  3. Hosanna Farmstay 6/10 - best atmosphere award, no signal award, most annoying bird award

  4. Ingenia Holidays Noosa 6/10 - best amenities hands down award, worst camping plot award (who puts concrete where you pitch a tent)

  5. Ingenia Holidays One Mile Beach 5/10 - best beach award, loudest neighbours award

  6. The Hatch Farm Port Macquarie 4/10 - best animals award, best trampoline award, worst amenities award

whats next: Currently am taking life slow. im aiming to get a full time job in the music industry, the

ultimate goal rn is radio but im not totally fussed if i dont get a job soon, iga is paying me enough to fund my travels and social life. ive also been taking a bit of time off music after doing so much of it in the weeks leading up to chrsitmas, its niced to have a break. ive been listening to a lot of different music and am grabbing ideas here and there about what i can do and write. on my insta you wouldve seen me do a thing called location lyrics where each day i posted a photo of where i was when i was away and then wrote lyrics that i thought of when at that location inspired by my thoughts, surroundings and events of the day. i found that was a fun way to incorporate music into the trip and is great for inspiration for any future songs i wanna write.

resolutions or revelations (definitely the first one): I have made new years resolutions for

2026, for context i had some for 25 but they were: eat majority of foods with chopsticks, touch my toes, release at least 2 songs, finish my colour album and get a bf. i think the chopsticks one was the most achieved alongside touching my toes but i also could only touch them for like a week and then i couldnt. so this years resolutions are: touch my toes, ask out a guy (rejection therapy is good, confidence in what you want is better), if that goes well...get a bf and then i also want to release music this year. if by september i still havent released a single song yet yell at me and then by the end of the year if i still havent released a song, unsubscribe from this letter cause i dont think ill be releasing music if i havent by the end of the year. its a confidence thing and also the fact that everytime i think a song is done and i could release it someone tells me to add something or change something or i learn something else and then i put it off.

this is gonna sound weird but i burnt my chin with jam and now i have a scab. i made little pastry pocket things with jam in the middle and ate them way too quickly after they came out of the oven and some boiling hot jam spilt out and landed on my chin and burnt it. it wasn’t like a little scar too it was actually looking really bad for a moment. a guy from work thought it was a makeup choice or that my makeup had been ruined kms

the day after we came back from our trip was our pamper day. you don’t understand how grown out my nails were, how disgusting my feet felt from always being dirty and how nice it was to have a good shower. i went got my nails and lashes done and washed my hair properly and after that i was like yes i loved the feeling of camping but i also love the feeling of not looking homeless.

how does one advertise for a trivia night? the only appropriate songs that come to mind are like quiz show theme tunes and theres only so many times i can reword and repost the same thing over and over until people register - which they dont/havent. pls give me ideas i am running out and sorta need to promote this
