Hello ducklings!
Lebs are fun: Remember how my village is tryna build their youth? Well after I sent last weeks newsletter we had a catchup that night. This time it was a games night started at 6 but we showed up at 7 and there was 3 of us until around 8. We played some card games and talked until others came and then we moved the table outside cause a few of them wanted to have argileh. From that moment we just spoke and didn’t play a single game but it was such a vibe. At around 10:30 they were like let’s all go out so we went to a hotel to drink then after that we were all hungry so we did a maccas run at 12am with the funniest conversations. It was a great night and it’s definitely getting better, less awkward now and more fun to look forward to.
Tis the season: We had our IGA Christmas party on the weekend which was a harbour cruise. It was actually quite a fun night, I hung out with people I don’t usually speak to and there was no dramas… anyways what was absolutely horrible was the DJ. This is the second harbour cruise that we’ve been on for our Christmas party and the common trend is that these DJs are not good. Transitions, song choices, volume, just everything was not a vibe like my Spotify playlist could do better. And I don’t get why like is there just a gap in the market of DJs on boats or have the standards of a DJ really just dropped, I understand if you’re drunk you probably wouldn’t pay that much attention but as a musician, even if I am drunk I still analyse the music - which lowkey sorta sucks :(
Circe: A few weeks ago I wrote about my string quartet composition - if you missed it you can find it on my website under past newsletters. Anyways my next assignment is a 7-10min composition so I decided to base it on the Greek Legend of Circe. There’s gonna be 9 instruments each representing a
character, the gods are strings, the humans are woodwind/brass, gods are low register humans are higher - apart from Odysseus cause he’s a bassoon and I can’t make that go higher - and breathy as well. Circe the consistent voice in the song is gonna be high pitched around gods and middle range around humans. Instead of starting at the beginning of her life Circe is having flashbacks and mirages of her future throughout the piece to tell her whole life story and I’m so excited for this you don’t understand.
Spotify Wrapped: So like I’m torn between curiosity and fear of my Spotify wrapped this year. I fear it’s just gonna be epic the musical for the majority of it and maybe like 3 RAYE songs cause I studied them for my music analysis but then it also could be one song from talia mar and one from
sleeping at last. My hope is that Playlunch is on it and my top artist but I don’t think it’ll happen. i’ll let you know next week.
See ya later suckerrrss: I’m going on a trip in my favourite rocket ship. sorry i had to. but i am going, leaving on friday morning and spending a weekend in the hunter valley with a bunch of things planned from wine tasting to hot air ballooning to horse riding, so next weeks letter shall be fun!

I had my first ever blood test this week purely because I never had one and my dad was going to get one so my sister and I joined him and made it a family outing, turns out every time we went to go to the doctor after that to get the results, they were closed. the first time we went it said on the website they close at 1 so we went at 12 and they said we close at 12 it says on google. then we went this afternoon where it says they close at 9 and then we walk in and the receptionist is like all doctors are finished for the day. what is the point.

I have another goal and that is to learn the whole of “where is my husband” by RAYE. I already learnt the bridge part - which is lowkey quite easy - and now I just have to learn the other 4/5ths of the song lmao. I love singing fast and rapping songs, it’s such a fun challenge and such a fun party trick to pull out at an event, like I’ve learnt the whole of can’t hold us - mainly cause our band sings it - but it’s always fun to just scream all the lyrics to a song

My biggest obsession is date checking. I absolutely love looking at dates on products and seeing if they’re in date. Idk why, i think it may be therapeutic where I can just disassociate and it’s so satisfying when I find something out of date like I’ve achieved something. I have no clue if that makes sense but that’s my latest thing and my work hates me cause now we have like no products on
the shelves, which realistically is good cause we’re not selling products that are past their date but also like they just didn’t wanna know that people aren’t doing their jobs properly and not rotating so like they don’t like me but I love doing it.
Thanks for going, BR3E
